Kid’s books: heroes
Do you love kid’s books starring heroes? I do. There are so many heroes in the world today. I consider cops and firemen to be in that category because they endanger their lives for us every day, as do people in the military. There are also every day heroes who jump to action when necessary. McDonald’s employee, Pedro Viloria is such a person.
While at work one day, he took a customer’s order for a woman and her children. He turned away for a second. She began having difficulty breathing. Her car started rolling away when her foot slipped off the brake. Pedro leaped through the window and chased after the car. Once the car was in a safe area, Pedro saw the woman was still unconscious. He rushed inside to call for help. Meanwhile, a second customer administered CPR to the woman in the car until medics arrived. We don’t have information about the lady’s current condition, but we do know she regained consciousness for a short time, while being taken to the hospital. She is a police officer, who was off duty at the time of the incident.
Pedro said he”Never panicked but he went into “hero mode” immediately. He said he “Knew something was wrong and he had to do something right now. Her kids were screaming. Pedro continued, “If those kids lose their mother today, that’s gonna be tragic. If I had to die to save that woman, I would have done it.”
Isn’t Pedro a remarkable young man? He certainly helped avoid a terrible tragedy. At twenty-two years old, Pedro knows one person can make a difference in the lives of others.
Do you like kid’s books featuring animals? If so, you’d enjoy my books, Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog and Charlene the Star and Hattie’s Heroes. Both are kid’s books told by the animal characters. The animals work together to help others.
