Animal stories for kids: Follow your dreams
When I write animal stories for kids I want them to be remembered for a special message. Maybe I want to encourage my readers to never give up on their dreams. Perhaps I want them to work toward their goals. No matter what you do, I hope you always follow your dreams. Regardless of how big those dreams are, nothing is impossible. Have you heard about Saira Blair?( her name is pronounced like Sarah) She’s just 18 years old and she’s reaching for the stars. She is running for a seat in the West Virginia House of Delegates, as the state Congress is called. She’s already accomplished a great deal by defeating a two -term incumbent. She won her primary just before she graduated from high school. If Saira is successful in November, she’ll be the youngest person ever elected to the West Virginia Congress. How does she feel about it? Saira says, “I provide a fresh perspective that otherwise isn’t there. I”m younger, so everything I say comes from the heart.” Saira realizes one of the biggest problems facing Americans today is the economy. She says, “Jobs are scarce so many residents are traveling to other states to look for work. What does Saira want to do to help the job situation? ” Lower taxes and encourage companies to move to or expand their companies in West Virginia.” “To convince voters that she’s the right person for the job, Blair is running a traditional, hands-on campaign. She is reaching out to voters with door-to-door visits and hundreds of handwritten letters. Blair says she wants to show that “I am going to put in the time to reach out to them personally.” She does everything possible to reach the voters personally. She makes door-to door visits. She even writes personal notes to be sure everyone knows her views. Saira hopes to be a great role model for other young people so that they become involved in the lives of others. She advises young people to stay informed. “While you’re browsing the internet, read a couple of articles because you can really make a positive impact.” Saira may be the subject of fascinating kid’s books if she wins her race in West Virginia.
As an update to this story I’d like to tell you that Saira’s efforts have paid big dividends. She is now the youngest to be elected to the legislature in West Virginia. During an interview she said she hopes to inspire other young people to embrace the values of their grandparents and stand up for their beliefs. Congratulations, Saira!
In the second of my animal stories for kids, Charlie the Horse, the young horse has big dreams. He must learn important lessons if the wants to succeed. When I was a little girl, I dreamed about becoming a champion horseback rider, even when most people thought it was impossible. I wrote about this journey in the first of my animal stories for kids, Tails of Sweetbrier. It won the silver medal in the Feathered Quill Book Awards. Perhaps these animal stories for kids will be among your favorites.
